Transform your skin with Nordlys Ellipse IPL Treatments

How do you want to transform your skin?
Learn how the Nordlys™ system can help make your skin look clear and bright by delivering short bursts of light that directly target the blood vessels or melanin within your skin.

What Is Nordlys™ Ellipse IPL?
Nordlys™ Ellipse IPL is a treatment that delivers light energy to treat a wide range of hyperpigmentation, freckles, sun damage, rosacea, and blood vessels. IPL may also improve skin tone, texture, and firmness.

What is the difference between ablative lasers and non-ablative lasers?
Ablative and non-ablative lasers both use energy to penetrate through various layers of skin to repair the appearance of wrinkles, pigmentation, scarring, and other signs of aging. The main difference is non-ablative lasers do not break the surface of the skin, allowing for minimal or no downtime. Whereas, ablative lasers do break the surface of the skin, creating longer healing time and possible peeling.

Patients with the following skin concerns may be treated with the Nordlys Ellipse IPL: Dark Spots | Freckles | Age Spots | Uneven Pigmentation | Rosacea (redness and visible blood vessels) | Vascular Lesions (birthmarks) | Port Wine Stains | Telangiectasia (spidery looking surface veins)

What Improvements Would You Love To See?

Clear your acne

The Nordlys system gently treats acne by delivering narrow light wavelengths with Ellipse IPL. No topical anesthetics are required and many patients describe the treatment as practically pain-free, like a flick from a rubber band, followed by a sensation similar to the feeling of gentle warmth after a day on the beach.

Rejuvenate your skin

The Ellipse IPL treatment makes your skin look clear and bright by delivering short bursts of light that directly target the blood vessels or melanin within your skin.2,16 It delivers clinically proven results in the treatment of skin rejuvenation.* In fact, in one study, 83% of patients had a greater than 50% improvement in cleared vessels.

Permanently reduce unwanted hair

The Ellipse IPL treatment can help. It targets unwanted hair follicles with short bursts of light. Treatments are quick — from just a few minutes for the upper lip to about 30 minutes for the back or both legs. And the results are clinically proven.

FAQ / NORDLYS

The number of treatments depends on the location and the life cycle of your hair. Because every hair grows for a period of time, you may need to repeat the treatment at intervals until all hair follicles have been treated while growing.
Clinical studies have shown that 4 to 6 treatments are needed, and typically the intervals between treatments are 1 to 3 months.
The Nordlys™ system permanently reduces unwanted hair by delivering short, bursts of light directed at the target site. To ensure good contact with the skin, a thin layer of gel is applied to the skin prior to treatment.

Potentially harmful wavelengths and wavelengths that only heat up the water in the skin are removed using patented Dual Mode Filtering.12 The emitted light is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in your hair. Melanin converts the light into heat, which travels down the hair, toward the root, and heats the hair matrix, preventing future hair growth.
You may notice sloughing or darkening of some pigmented spots for a few days post-treatment. After that, you will find that your skin looks smoother and fresher. Depending on your baseline condition and esthetic goals, you may require up to 3 Nordlys Ellipse IPL™ for the transformative results. Since everyone experiences the natural aging process, you might choose to have 1 or 2 annual maintenance treatments to keep your skin looking its best.
The number of treatments depends on the location and number of vessels to be treated. Depending on your skin condition, you may need a few treatments to achieve your desired outcome. You should see an improvement after the first treatment, but up to 3 treatments may be required to achieve the full effect. The Laser Skin Center team will work with you to create the most beneficial treatment plan, recommending the ideal number of treatments for your specific concerns.
Prior to your Nordlys Ellipse IPL™ procedure, you will meet with Dr.Krausser to discuss your treatment goals and outline your personal plan. It is important to avoid tanning (sun, tanning salons, and self-tanning products) before and during the treatment period.
No topical anesthetics are required and most patients describe the treatment as practically pain-free, You’ll feel a warm, prickly sensation, like a rubber band snap, as the energy enters your skin.
You may notice some general redness to the treatment area. If you have sun-damaged skin with dark spots, some of these pigmented spots may turn darker for a few days following treatment, before eventually disappearing. One of our specialties is Dr. Gerrish’s Recovery Care Kit which naturally speeds up skin healing and eliminates or minimizes any redness or brusing.
